Magnetisation of Interstellar and Intergalactic Media: The Prospects of Low-Frequency Radio Observations

took place from July 9 to 13, 2012 at Erbacher Hof (Akademie und Tagungszentrum des Bistums Mainz).

The motto of this third meeting of the Research Unit is

Investigating magnetised interstellar and galactic media with LOFAR, WSRT, EVLA and numerical simulations

This meeting is to summarise the scientific achievements made in the framework of the Research Unit over the one and a half years of active research. This comprises observational studies of galactic and intergalactic magnetic fields on all scales, using state-of-the-art instrumentation. These studies are accompanied by numerical simulations that are indispensable for any firm interpretation of observations in this highly complex field of research.
