Trainings & Events
To counteract gender-related disadvantages, the institute hosts regular workshops and seminars as well as talks for the development of awareness and to counteract stereotypes and prejudice. All employees are invited to participate. Some of these events are organized in cooperation with other institutes.
Additionally, a reading corner in the in-house library has been established concerning the topic of “Gender and Diversity” with books in English and German language where employees can get informed and educate themselves.
Next to the in-house events, the comprehensive offerings by the Planck Academy are available to all employees. We especially recommend the participation in the digital trainings:
- “To address misconduct”
- “Unconscious Bias Training”
An event that takes place regularly once a month is “DiversiTea”, an informal meeting with coffee and tea. It used to be “FemTea” - an event for the female scientific staff but the members decided to change the concept to “DiversiTea”. Problems can be discussed here in an informal setting and wherever possible professional workshops and seminars are organized to tackle these problems.
