Actual Notice for Visitors
The possible number of talks for visitor groups will remain limited, with a maximum of three talks per day for groups of up to 30 participants per talk.
For this purpose, there will be numbered seats, similar to last year, with contact tracking forms indicating seat numbers and one contact address per group.
Please note that due to the new Corona protection rules effective from Friday, August 20, 2021, a 7-day incidence of 35 or greater will result in the application of the 3G rule also for events in the visitors' pavilion (submission of a negative rapid antigen test or a negative PCR test no more than 48 hours old for all individuals who are neither fully vaccinated nor recovered).
Unfortunately, due to the impact of the July 14/15, 2021 weather disaster there is still a restricted traffic access to the Effelsberg observatory area. An overview on traffic limitations is available via:
A part of our astronomical hiking trails leading as Milky Way Trail from the viewing plateau in front of the radio telescope around the institute area to the starting point of the Galaxy Trail, is not accessible on the passage directly behind the LOFAR field due to the effects of the flooding! However, the viewing plateau itself is still accessible from the visitor pavilion.
