Proceedings
Proceedings of the workshop will be published in a separate volume of
"Memorie della Societa Astronomica Italiana" (Journal of the Italian
Astronomical Society), and will also be available online at the
publisher website as well as at the workshop website in Bonn. The
proceedings are scheduled for the January issue of the "Memorie".
The deadline for proceedings submission is
firmly set by the publisher.
Deadline for contribution submission: 15
November 2004
(please remember that the deadline is set by the publisher!)
Obtaining the LaTeX macro package
Contributions must be typeset using LaTeX macro package available from the
Bonn workshop ftp host at: ftp://ftp.mpifr-bonn.mpg.de/outgoing/bonn04/proceedings.tar.gz/.
Please use the "Save as" option if retrieving files using a web browser. If
you are using the ftp protocol, please do the following steps:
ftp ftp.mpifr-bonn.mpg.de
login: anonymous
password: your email
cd outgoing/bonn04
binary
prompt
get proceedings.tar.gz
quit
Using the LaTeX macro package
The file example.tex contains a sample
contribution, which can be used as a template for your own text. The
file
example.ps is a PostScript output
generated by running LaTeX and dvips on example.tex.
Figures must be provided as PostScript files and should be
incorporated in your contribution using the standard Latex2e
graphicx package as demonstrated in the demo file
example.tex. Axis labels for figures should be printed in the
8pt size or larger.
Please use the following naming convention for your files: The
Latex file of your text should be called myname.tex, where
myname (all in lower-case) is the family name of the first
author. Any figures should be named mynameF1.ps (or .eps),
mynameF2a.ps etc, for figure 1, figure 2a, etc.
Please DO NOT change the macro mem.cls, as this can cause
unpredictable effects when the individual contributions are compiled together
to produce the final manuscript.
Usage of the TeX \def and the LaTeX2e
\renewcommand commands is forbidden!
Personal LaTeX2e command definitions using
\newcommand are allowed, but should be kept to an
absolute minimum, and made uniquely identifiable by appending your name to
the command.
Page limits
The page limits for the Bonn proceedings are as follows:
reviews - 8 pages;
talks - 4 pages; posters - 2 pages.
It is anticipated that some editorial overview will be exercised
and authors may be requested to make changes to their manuscripts.
Page layout
Each page can contain only one of the following
combinations of figures and tables:
- one 2-column figure
- two 1-column figures
- one 2-column table
- two 1-column tables
- one 1-column figure and one 1-column table
Color illustrations
Unfortunately, color illustrations cannot be supported by the budget we have
for publication of the proceedings.
Contribution submission
Please submit the LaTeX source file of your contribution, and
PostScript files of any figures, via ftp as follows:
ftp ftp.mpifr-bonn.mpg.de
login: anonymous
password: your email
cd incoming/bonn04
Please upload all your files in this directory using the naming convention
explained above.
